Extension of the temporary stay of foreigners and stateless persons in the Republic of Azerbaijan

Required documents

an application questionnaire;
a copy of passport or other border crossing document;
a notarized copy of birth certificate or other equivalent document (for persons under 18 without passport);
a document confirming the existence of circumstances that are the basis for extending the period of temporary stay;
two photos of 3.5x4.5 cm in size;
a document of the residential area to be registered (excerpt from the state register of real estate on state registration of ownership, warrant, lease (rent) contract or other document stipulated by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan);
a notarized consent application in the absence of the person providing a residential area to a foreigner or a stateless person (except for cases where a foreigner or a stateless person owns a residential area);
a copy of the identity document of the person who gave a residential area to a foreigner or a stateless person (except for cases where the foreigner or a stateless person owns a residential area);
a document on the payment of the state fee (the document on the payment of the state fee is issued when the decision to extend the period of temporary stay in the Republic of Azerbaijan is submitted to foreigners and stateless persons).

State Fee

Regarding issuing a decision on extending the period of temporary stay in the country to foreigners and stateless persons who have reached the age of majority:

when issued within one working day:

50 AZN for up to 30 days
100 AZN for up to 60 days

when issued within three working days

30 AZN for up to 30 days
60 AZN for up to 60 days

Regarding issuing a decision on extending the period of temporary stay in the country to minors and stateless persons:

when issued within one working day:

30 AZN for up to 30 days
60 AZN for up to 60 days

when issued within three working days:

15 AZN for up to 30 days
30 AZN for up to 60 days

For reissuing the decision to extend the period of temporary stay - 20 AZN

Note

Copies of the documents specified in paragraphs 2, 6, and 8 are submitted together with the originals of those documents, and after reconciliation, the originals of the documents are returned to the person who submitted them.

Foreigners and stateless persons, when there are circumstances justifying the extension of the period of temporary stay in the Republic of Azerbaijan, at least 3 working days before the end of the period of temporary stay in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan (except for the cases of forced stop during transit) by applying to the relevant executive authority for the extension of the period of temporary stay in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan they must submit the required documents. The period of temporary stay of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in the Republic of Azerbaijan can be extended up to 60 days based on their request or their legal representatives.

If there is less than 1 month left before the expiration of the validity of the passports or other border crossing documents of foreigners and stateless persons, their temporary stay in the country shall not be extended.

According to Article 575 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Azerbaijan, foreigners or stateless persons for living without documents giving the right to stay or live in the Republic of Azerbaijan, or without registration, shall be fined in the amount of three hundred to four hundred AZN, with or without administrative removal outside the borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
