The event was declared opened by the keynote of the Head of Executive Power Nazim Ismayilov, who greeted the guests and said, that holiday Nowruz has been being celebrated as a nationwide holiday in our country since previous centuries and it delivers people a friendship message. Also, noted, that in 2010 year according to the decision of the UN General Assembly, March 21 was declared as the International Nowruz Day.
Then the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Inam Karimov by this speech congratulated participants of festival on occasion of the holiday and spoke about the importance of Nowruz, its calling people to a reciprocal communication, to enhance sincerity and form high quality of dignity among people. At the same time there have been being implemented important conditions in Azerbaijan for the development and improvement of the tradition of multiculturalism, and conducting of “Nowruz – Friendship Festival” is one of the bright examples in this direction.
Then other guests spoke about importance of celebrating "Nowruz - Friendship Festival" and congratulated the people who celebrate it.
There were demonstrated the examples of national cuisine of each country as reflecting their culture, national-applied art products and customs-traditions of Nowruz.
The festival had been continued with the speeches glorifying holiday, colorful dance examples, songs and concert part consisted of small scenes.
At the end, participants of festival got acquainted with the activity of Sabirabad “ASAN service” center.
