Ambassador of the Republic of Korea at “ASAN Service”

On January 17, 2020, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiyev received Kim Tong Op- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan.

Wide information about the activities and aims of the establishment of "ASAN service" was delivered to the guests. There was emphasized that with the establishment of "ASAN service" there have been achieved serious steps in the field of provision of efficient public administration through enhancing transparency and application of innovations.

It was mentioned that ASAN Service has received approximately 36 million applications. It was also drawn to attention that “ASAN service” received United Nations Public Service Award 2015, as well as UN Special Award for promoting digital transformation in the public sector during UN Public Service Forum 2019.

During the reception, there were discussed bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Korea on the field of electronic services.

The Ambassador mentioned fruitful cooperation between relevant organizations from Korea and Azerbaijan.

During the reception, there were discussed directions for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the State Agency and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Korea within the framework of “Azerbaijan- Korea Partnership Forum” held in Baku in August 2016.

The Ambassador highly appreciated “ASAN Visa” project and noted that thanks to the aforementioned project, the number of Korean people visiting Azerbaijan has significantly increased.

Guests got familiar with the conditions and business principles of “ASAN Service” center, ASAN Radio, “ASAN Training and Education Center” and “ABAD” Public Legal Entity and wished them success in future activities.
