A festival titled “Voice of youth” was launched
On February 2, 2018, Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators hosted the opening of the festival titled "Voice of Youth", dedicated to the Youth Day.
The festival was organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Initially, the event participants got acquainted with the photo exhibition of students of Baku Tourism Vocational School, Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev during his speech at the opening ceremony spoke about the importance of the traditional festival, which is conducted every year. The Minister emphasized that the Decree "On the proclamation of February 2 - the Day of Azerbaijan Youth", signed by nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev in 1997, is a vivid example of the great attention and care by the great Leader to Azerbaijani youth. Since that period, February 2, is celebrated as the Azerbaijani youth day every year. "It is a good point, that as a result of the President's support and direct attention, a new youth movement has been formed in Azerbaijan in recent years. This is a volunteer movement. The volunteer movement turns into a form of the state policy support. The active involvement of young people in public life has brought new emotions. The destiny, development and future of the country are directly connected with young people", - the minister concluded his speech.
Inam Karimov, the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, highlighted that today's event is a mirror of the youth policy implemented by the government. The nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev considered the development of a new generation of healthy minds as the guardian of the younger generation from the very beginning of the country's statehood as an important task of the state and society. The youth policy, which was founded by the nationwide Leader, is successfully continued today.
I.Karimov appreciated the organization of the event and stressed the importance of the event in revealing the potential of the youth and expressed his confidence that it would continue successfully.
It was noted that the "Voice of Youth" festival aims to reveal young talents, support their searchs on creativity, knowledge and skills, achievements and discover new ones. It is planned to hold concerts, meetings, photo and painting exhibitions and performances with the participation of professional and amateur youth in different fields of culture within the framework of the festival.
It was mentioned that a festival, which is planned to last until February 6, besides capital, will be held in Sumgayit, Mingachevir, Shamkir, Gadabay, Guba and Masally.
Later, a group of talented young people were awarded for the successful activities within the previous year.
Event was continued with a concert program.
