The Innovation Center of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted the “New Horizons, Great Opportunities” event.

The event, organized under the "Skills for the Future" project, saw the participation of the State Agency's chairman Ülvi Mehdiyev, the Director of Turkey's Bilişim Vadisi Erkam Tüzgen, project mentors, startup teams, representatives from various public and private organizations, and other guests.

Subsequently, a video promoting a television show on ASAN TV aimed at introducing startup projects and attracting investors was shown. Additionally, the presentation of a 6-month incubation program carried out jointly with Bilişim Vadisi was demonstrated.

Out of 47 teams initially registered for the incubation program, 30 teams were selected. In the second phase, based on the evaluation by a panel of judges appointed by the Innovation Center and Bilişim Vadisi, 10 teams earned the right to participate in the 6-month incubation program.

The objective of the "Skills for the Future" project is to enhance the personnel potential in the field of innovation and support innovation activities. Another key goal is to provide support to students for the development of innovative ideas and to direct them towards fields of discovery and invention, which play a crucial role in the technological advancement of the country.

The project encompasses a "Mentorship Program" for preparing teachers as mentors at universities and two "Incubation Programs" for students to form startups from their ideas with the help of mentors.

In total, more than 2000 students presented 181 startup ideas for the project. With the support of over 130 teachers prepared as mentors in universities, 98 startup teams were formed. At the official closing event of the project, 19 startup teams formed through the incubation programs presented their projects, and three teams were awarded by the judging panel.
