Nepal is interested in applying the “ASAN Visa” experience

A delegation led by Jeyhun Salmanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited Nepal on January 26-28.

The visit was held with the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Republic of India with the aim of providing public services, e-services, integration of services, e-government and innovation cooperation, and deepening bilateral cooperation in this area.

During the visit, meetings were held with Nepal's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Head of the Immigration Office and senior officials of other agencies. During the meetings, the Azerbaijani side expressed readiness to support business relations between the countries, as well as Nepal's efforts in the respective fields.

It was highlighted the recent public administration reforms implemented by President Ilham Aliyev, the implementation of ASAN practices, the provision of public services, UN awards for the successful achievements in the field of e-government and other international awards.

Significant potential of cooperation perspectives, particularly supports by the Republic of Azerbaijan the Nepalese government's activities in the field of digitalization and integration of services, use of e-governance tools through the best practices of ASAN Service was emphasized. The Nepalese side also expressed its interest in application of "ASAN Visa" experience for further development of the country’s tourism potential.

During the hospitable meetings, the Azerbaijani side expressed its support to this interest and its intention to exploit the existing potential for deepening bilateral relations.

The parties also highly appreciated the visit of the Prime Minister of Nepal to Azerbaijan during the 18th Summit of the Heads of States and Governments of the Non-Aligned Movement Member States, held in Baku last year and the first visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal to Azerbaijan. They expressed their satisfaction with the level of cooperation between two countries and their hope for its tangible results in the future.

The Deputy Chairman of the State Agency gave an extensive interview to the Nepalese media, including the “New Business Age” magazine, one of the most popular in the country with large readership. The interview was focused on development of bilateral relations, their future perspectives, application of Azerbaijan's best public service practices in Nepal, and the implementation of mutually beneficial cooperation on specific projects in various areas.
