"AVO MUN" 2018 gets underway

On May 17-19, the project "AVO MUN" 2018 gets underway at ADA University with the joint support of “ASAN Volunteers” Organization, “Gilan Holding”, ADA University and UNDP Representative Office of the United Nations Development Program in Azerbaijan (UNDP Azerbaijan).

The event was attended by Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations - Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the "ASAN Volunteers" Organization - Bakhtiyar Islamov, Youth Fund Executive Director- Farid Jafarov, UNDP Representative in Azerbaijan - Mazahir Efendiyev, ADA University Pro-rector - Fariz Ismayilzade, Holding's Human Resources Department director - Allahverdi Baghirov and others.

Bakhtiyar Islamov, chairman of the "ASAN Volunteers" Organization, said that the main objective of the project is to develop knowledge of young people in legal, political and public issues: "With participation of 100 young people aged 16-25, within three days this project will cover public and political discussions on different topics.”

Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovation - Ulvi Mehdiyev said that nearly 300 projects have been implemented by “ASAN Volunteers” organization, and these projects have engaged about 30,000 young people. He noted that the new project will be useful to youth for mastering international law and youth rights.

Executive Director of the Youth Foundation - Farid Jafarov wished success to the project participants.

The UNDP Representative in Azerbaijan, Mazahir Efendiyev, said that the project will contribute to the development of Azerbaijan.

Then Fariz Ismayilzade, ADA University's Vice-rector, and Gilan Holding's Human Resources Director, Mr. Allahverdi Bagirov, appreciated the project and wished success to youth in their lives.

It should be noted that within the framework of the project, first time in Azerbaijan simulation of three committees will be held in 3 different languages (Azerbaijani, English and Russian).
