“ABAD” was presented at “UN State Services Forum”
On the 22-23 June, 2017, the "United Nations Public Services Forum" was held in Hague, Netherlands on "Future is Now: Speeding Innovation in the Field of State Services for the 2030 Agenda".
Our delegation was represented by Inam Karimov, the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The purpose of the Forum was to discuss effective public administration, advanced public service delivery models and other issues, as well as exchange of positive experiences and awarding ceremonies of states in this direction.
Heads of leading ministries and organizations from around the world, international experts, representatives of mass media and business circles attended the forum.
The forum was opened by Mr. Vu Hongbo, Deputy Secretary General for Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations and Mr. Ronald Plasterk, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Netherlands, who spoke about the importance of the forum and sharing the best practices of the modern world with innovations. Mayor of the Hague City Hall, Pauline Krikke, welcomed the participants and noted that the event was an objective necessity arising from modern challenges.
At the first panel held by Inam Karimov, the Chairman of the State Agency spoke on the topic entitled“ The Employment and Welfare”. He informed about the reforms by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, implemented in recent years on the improvement and modernization of public administration, and on “ABAD”, which is an integral part of these reforms, made a presentation on the successful activity of the public legal entity.
It was stated that “ABAD” is an initiative aimed to develope family business and family brands in Azerbaijan and that it has social projects aimed at supporting active participation of citizens in the socio-economic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan, development of small and medium-sized businesses, increasing the employment level of the population, and shaping competitiveness of family businesses. The presentation was highly appreciated by the participants.
In the frame of the visit, there were held bilateral meetings with Mr. Tomas Gass, UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Coordination and Communications, Mr. Ronald Plasterk, Minister of Internal Affairs and Kingdom Relations of the Netherlands, Mr. Muruli Mukasa, Minister of State Services of Uganda, Mr. Asman Abnur, Minister of Governance and Bureaucratic Reforms of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Shahzad Aryobi, director of ASAN Khedmat, established in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
