Shooting contest titled "I'm ready for the defense of the homeland!"
On 9 February 2017, there was held a shooting tournament titled "I'm ready for the defense of the homeland" was held between "ASAN service" centers dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription.
The tournament was organized jointly by the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription.
The aim of the tournament is to raise the level of military patriotism among citizens.
By the opening speech, Zaur Abdullayev, First Deputy Head of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, welcomed the participants and said that one of the main tasks of the State Service created in 2012 is to raise the patriotic spirit of young people and take measures in this direction.
Ulvi Mehdiyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said that such events play an exceptional role in raising the sense of patriotism. U. Mehdiyev also reminded about the heroism of the Azerbaijani soldier in the April wars and said that this was a historic victory.
Double paralympic and world champion, five-time European champion, winner of the first European Games, Ilham Zakiyev, by his speech during the event wished success to the participants, mentioned that the young people were always ready to defend their homeland.
Then the tournament was started. Teams that won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts from the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription.
