During the visit Deputy Chairman of State Agency U. Mehdiyev and General Director of the International Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Korea Mr. InGyun Chunq were highly appreciated the results of the "Azerbaijan-Korea Forum on Public Administration" held in Baku on 19 August. Within the framework of the forum, the future activities on implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of e-government and public services, signed between the two organizations, were widely discussed. Also, an agreement was reached on the appointment of co-ordinators from both sides and the adoption of the Action Plan in the coming months.
At the same time, at the meeting with Director General of Strategy and Planning of Korea International Cooperation Agency Dong Ho Kim, the sides discussed current state of cooperation between the two organizations and exchanged views on further steps of KOICA's support for further expansion of relations.
During the visit, the delegation of the State Agency also participated in the 3rd Busan Global Cooperation Forum dedicated to the implementation of Global Partnership for Effective Cooperation. During the plenary session of the forum, it was reported on the activity of the “ASAN service”, which was created as an integral part of institutional reforms in the field of public administration and public services in Azerbaijan by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that specific measures are being taken to implement the successful experience of “ASAN service” in other countries, especially in developing countries, as the winner of the United Nations Public Services Award and the brand of the world. An example of this is the establishment of an identical state service provider in Afghanistan based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed on July 12, 2016 in Kabul. It was emphasized that the Republic of Azerbaijan's relations with other countries related to the application of the "ASAN service" are one of the best examples for the South-South Cooperation.
It was noted that the State Agency is ready to continue its activities within bilateral and multilateral frameworks, including United Nations South-South and Trilateral Cooperation initiatives, in the direction of transmitting the |ASAN service” model to interested countries.
The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Korea closely supported the organization of meetings within the framework of the visit and took part in the meetings.
