ISESCO established ASAN award
On October 25, 2018 a cooperation agreement was signed between the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The agreement was co-signed by Director General of ISESCO, Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, and Chairman of the State Agency, Mr. Ulvi Mehdiyev.
According to the Cooperation Program, the “ISESCO’s ASAN award” for advanced governance has been establishing. “ISESCO’s ASAN award” will be presented for experiments reflecting innovations in member states.
In addition, the agreement provides for the creation of a media award, support for leading experiences and projects in the field of governance, launch of the “Strive for Development” Network, and the international initiative, “Governance for Development” intended to develop “ASAN service” products. For the record, on November 10, 2017 ISESCO and the State Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which laid a foundation for the future cooperation.
For the development of sectoral governance mechanism in member countries within the ISESCO's 2019-2021 Action Plan it was also recommended to benefit from “ASAN service” model, which is the best practice in Azerbaijan in the field of public administration.
Cooperation in the relevant field of the ISESCO's Action Plan is also considered for the first time.
