The results of the Innovation Contest have been announced
On December 21, there was held an event dedicated to the results of Republic Innovations Contest in Baku Business Center by the Minister of Economics and UN Office in Azerbaijan.
Innovation Contest organized in order to support the implementation of the goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda, encourage innovation, and support the implementation of the "Azerbaijan 2020: Outlook for the Future" Development Concept and the "Strategic Road Map on the Production of Consumer Goods at Small and Medium Enterprises" innovation in our country is the first event in this format. About 200 projects covering the economic, social and environmental spheres have been submitted to the contest by the Ministry of Economy and the Bank of Ideas of “ASAN service”.
Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev noted that the competition was held to further increase the interest in Innovations, stimulate the activities of innovation subjects and increase effectiveness, create the necessary conditions for the development of small and medium-sized businesses within the innovation infrastructure, improve the research base and improve the staffing potential of innovation activities. in terms of development. It was noted that a commission consisting of government agencies and UN representatives was set up to hold the competition, during which a number of meetings were held in the direction of promoting competition and informing the public and using the "Idea Bank" platform of “ASAN service” to simplify the adoption of innovation projects.
Resident Representative in Azerbaijan Ghulam Isaczai spoke about the role of innovations and noted that such competitions would contribute to the promotion of investment in innovative areas in the future, the application of scientific achievements and innovations in various fields, as well as the improvement of the national innovation system.
A video presentation was held on the work done within the Innovation Contest and the purpose and significance of the competition, a joint presentation of the winning announced innovation projects, as well as the author of the Rainergy project, the winner of the award from the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India Reyhan Camalova and Zahra Gasimova . Presentations were welcomed by participants of the event.
There was signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and National Academy of Sciences in order to coordinate joint activities on organizing annual Innovation Contest. The document was signed by Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Inam Kerimov and President of the National Academy of Sciences, Akif Alizadeh.
At the end, the winners of the first three projects announced as winners of the Innovation Competition, as well as the winners of the winners were awarded diplomas and prizes.
