Encouraging formalization of labor relations

Monitoring Center for Labor Relations of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Republic of Azerbaijan continues to take measures to prevent informal labor relations.

The mobile monitoring group of the Center holds meetings with customers, contractors, subcontracting companies, and workers of construction sites in Baku, Sumgayit, and Absheron district. In total, meetings with subjects of construction activities were held at 226 construction sites– 182 in Baku and 44 in Sumgayit and Absheron district.

The purpose of the meetings is to encourage formalization of labor relations between workers and employers. During the meetings, wide information about the Center's activities, including the social and economic benefits of labor contracts was given. Questions, complaints and suggestions on regulating labor relations of construction activity subjects were considered and solutions were offered.

One of the factors affecting the dynamic growth of number of the labor contracts is encouragement campaigns conducted in construction sites via the mobile meetings.

The Labor Monitoring Center warns, considering that mobile monitoring is continuing, labor contracts should be electronically documented, and labor contracting systems should not be involved in the construction site until the contract is in force.
