Registration of the place of residence of foreigners got simplified

On May 17, A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Migration Service and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the implementation of registration of Azerbaijani place of residence of foreigners and stateless persons in the “ASAN service” centers. The memorandum was signed by the Head of the State Migration Service - Vusal Huseynov and the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations -Ulvi Mehdiyev.

The registration of the place of residence of foreigners and stateless persons will be carried out simultaneously by regional migration offices of the State Migration Service and "ASAN service" centers operating in Baku and Sumgayit.

According to Memorandum, the State Migration Service makes “ASAN service” centers eligible to issue applications of foreigners or stateless persons staying over 10 days in the country for temporary residence registration, and State Service for Public Service and Social Innovations has undertaken an obligation to create the proper environment for the intended service to be implemented on the basis of application of innovations and high standards.

Transparency and convenience will be provided in the registration process; the possible queues will be avoided, the satisfaction of service usage will be increased, and the opportunities for individuals will be expanded. Within the framework of cooperation of the State Migration Service and State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations, registration of foreigners and stateless persons will be carried out in accordance with the principles and transparency standards set in the “ASAN service” centers.

There is no public charge for the registration of the residence of foreigners and stateless persons.

The required documentation for the place of residence is as follows:

Application form;

Copy of passport (other cross border document) of foreigner and stateless person (including visa pages and pages with last access to the country);

It should be noted that, along with a direct application for registration in the country, it can also be carried out electronically at the SMS official website (migration.gov.az), e-government portal (www.e-gov.az) and e-mail (qeydiyyat@migration.gov.az).

According to Article 21 of the Migration Code, foreigners and stateless persons wishing to stay in the Republic of Azerbaijan for more than 10 days must be registered at the place of their residence. For this purpose, the administration of the place of residence of a foreigner or stateless person or the owner of a residential area shall ensure that the foreigner is registered at the place where he / she has been in the country for 10 days from the date of arrival.

Foreigners and stateless persons may apply for registration of themselves and their place of residence.
