“Foreign Volunteers” in Guba and Sheki
Within the framework of “Foreign Volunteers” by “Green ASAN”, participants visited Sheki and Guba on August 24-29.
Participants got familiarized with “ASAN Hayat” Complex, “ABAD” Ceramics and Applied Arts Center. Sheki excursion route also included Sheki Khan`s Palace, Kish village, Ancient Temple of Albania, “Gelersen Gorersen” Castle.
As for Guba excursion, participant were taken to “ASAN Hayat” Complex, Guba Genocide Memorial Complex, Khinalig village, the film “Ali and Nino” has been shown.
Moreover, the participants took part in various cleaning events in the respective regions.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Young Ambassadors Initiative for Sustainable Development and “Creating new foundations for the active participation of young people in global political discussions” project carried out by “ASAN Service”, “ASAN Volunteer” School, and “Green ASAN” program, as well as UN Development Programme and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The main objectives of the project are to introduce the activities regarding environmental issues, volunteer activities in our country, and draw attention to the issue of climate change. Moreover, the main goals are to establish international partnerships, organize environmental projects in the relevant sphere and to increase participation of young people in solving the environmental problems.
