“Foreign Volunteers” Project Has Ended
On August 30, 2019, closing ceremony of the “Foreign Volunteers” by “Green ASAN” was held.
Youth from Turkey, Nigeria, Maldives, Liberia, Afghanistan and Georgia volunteered at “ASAN Service” centers on August 18-30.
In the framework of the volunteering program, participants got acquainted with methods of the management of ecological projects, additionally excursions were organized to familiarize with the activities of the “ASAN Service” centers and Azerbaijani culture.
The project was jointly initiated by “ASAN Service”, “Green ASAN” programme by “ASAN Volunteering” school, “New Key Features to Restore Youth's Interest in Global Political Meetings” project by UNDP and the Ministry of Youth and Sport, as well as Youth Ambassadors for Sustainable Development Goals.
The main objectives of the project are to introduce the activities regarding environmental issues, volunteer activities in our country, and draw attention to the issue of climate change. Moreover, the main goals are to establish international partnerships, organize environmental projects in the relevant sphere and to increase participation of young people in solving the environmental problems.
