UNDP Administrator Mrs. Helen Clark was acquainted with the “ASAN Service” center

On the 3rd of October, 2014, participant of Baku International Humanitarian Forum, UNDP Administrator Helen Clark was acquainted with the building and functioning of the “ASAN service” center in Sumgait of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. On the 3rd of October, 2014, participant of Baku International Humanitarian Forum, UNDP Administrator Helen Clark was acquainted with the building and functioning of the “ASAN service” center in Sumgait of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Mr. Inam Karimov, Chair of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan welcomed the guest and delivered information about the aim of the ASAN service centers, services rendered, history of development, as well as the future plans. It was noted that the aim of activities of “ASAN service” centers is to provide comfort, ensure transparency, eliminate corruption, apply modern technology, and form up new thinking as to relations between citizens and civil servants. UNDP Administrator highly appreciated “one stop-shop model” which is functioning for the public service.  Due to “ASAN Service” citizens can preserve extra time and additional service fees, also this experience has created interest of the states which are aimed to develop, she mentioned. After becoming familiar with “ASAN service” center, the guest highly appreciated the professional approach of staff members and considered the activities of "ASAN service" centers praiseworthy, and mentioned usefulness the application of this experience in many countries including Portugal. It was noted that more than 3 000 000 citizens have been served at “ASAN service” centers. Guest also stressed on Azerbaijani and UN relations, also focused on the importance of “ASAN” in development perspectives of these relations. After becoming familiar with the conditions and work principle in “ASAN service” center, the guest highly appreciated the professional approach of staff members, and wished success in their future activity.
