The next meeting was held between the representatives of the “ASAN Service” and BSEC General Secretariat

On April 12, 2023, the next online meeting of the working group on “Institutional Reforms and Good Governance” was held by joint sponsorship of the General Secretariat of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (GSBSEC) and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It aimed at exchanging experience on the activities and achievements of member states in the relevant fields, expanding the collaborative network, and discuss the action plan of the working group for the upcoming months. Due to its advanced experience in the provision of public services, the State Agency was elected as the coordinator of the relevant working group for 2021-2023 by the member states of the BSEC.

Emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in the field of good governance, the representative of the State Agency wished the working group success in its future activities. Merve Kavakchi, First Deputy Secretary General of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat (PERMIS), thanked the State Agency for its active participation and sharing its experience with other member states.

During the meeting, the participants were provided with the detailed information about the overall activity directions, projects of the State Agency, its being awarded with the United Nations Special Prize for the advanced experience in the field of public services, as well as on the adoption of a resolution on “Promotion of Human Rights and Sustainable Development Goals through Transparent, Responsible and Efficient Provision of Public Services” based on “Asan Service” model within the framework of the 52nd session of the UN Human Rights Council on April 3 of this year.

It is planned to hold a webinar on the topic “Exchange of Experience on the Role of Innovations in the Public Sector” by joint cooperation of the State Agency and the General Secretariat of BSEC in June of this year.
