Experience of "ASAN service" at the Trans-Caspian Forum
On May 18, 2018, the two-day Trans-Caspian Forum was launched in the US capital, Washington.
The main purpose of the Forum was to inform the US business community about infrastructural, business, trade and investment opportunities of Trans-Caspian region states, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
The Caspian Policy Center and the US Chamber of Commerce, which is home to more than three million members, jointly organized a forum in the “Hall of Flags” auditorium, located opposite to White House. At the forum, for the first time, senior officials from the US administration and regional governments came together to discuss the potential of the Trans-Caspian region.
The event was attended by representatives of US government agencies, academic organizations, business and political entourages, and diplomatic corps.
Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United States, Elin Suleymanov said that Trans-Caspian Forum is a key platform for emphasizing Azerbaijan's central role in ensuring trade and transit relations in the region, and the potential for providing foreign investment and business friendly environment for the trade. He said that this event coincided with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan and that along with the restoration of the independence of Azerbaijan with other countries of the region after the collapse of the Soviet Union, our country passed a great way of development.
He later noted that Azerbaijan created its national brand as “ASAN service” and applied this experience in other countries of the region. He said that “ASAN service” representatives’ participation in the event was of particular importance in terms of sharing this experience and discussing future cooperation opportunities.
Azad Jafarli, Chief of Staff of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan addressed the last panel dedicated to innovation and technology. He also talked about the experience of "ASAN service", its implementation in the Trans-Caspian region and future prospects.
It should be noted that the Trans-Caspian Forum, initiated by Azerbaijan, is held every year since 2016 in Washington.
