“ASAN service” to conduct UN member country civil servant training

The delegation led by Chairperson of the State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiyev is on a business trip to Geneva, Switzerland.

Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held between the UN Assistant Secretary General and Executive Director of the UN Training and Research Institute (UNITAR) Nikhil Seth and the Chairperson of the state Agency Ulvi Mehdiyev. During the meeting, Ulvi Mehdiyev congratulated the other side on the occasion of 60th anniversary of UNITAR and emphasized the fact that during the past period, efficient cooperation between UNITAR and the State Agency was carried out and the need to continue activities in the direction of deepening cooperation in relevant fields.

Assistant Secretary General of the UN and executive director of the UN Training and Research Institute mentioned that the “ASAN service” model of our country is one of the most advanced concepts in the world in the field of provision of public services. Expressing his satisfaction with the cooperation with the State Agency in this direction, Nikhil Set said that various projects will be implemented in the fields of training and research.

After that, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the State Agency and UNITAR on cooperation in training and capacity building activities. Within the framework of the implementation of the document, it is planned to conduct trainings for civil servants of UN member countries through UNITAR in the direction of provision of public services by representatives of the State Agency and the development of human capital in social innovations and other relevant areas applied here. At the same time, the Memorandum will expand the possibilities of promoting and applying the advanced practice of “ASAN service” in different countries.
