“ASAN service” in the spotlight at the UN event

The United Nations (UN) Public Service Forum is being held in the Republic of Korea from June 24-26, 2024.

A delegation led by Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is representing our country at the event.

The forum aims to discuss effective public administration, advanced models of public service delivery, and other related topics, as well as to facilitate the exchange of positive experiences among nations and to hold an awards ceremony.

Over 1,000 representatives are participating in the forum, including leaders of leading ministries and organizations from various countries, international experts, and representatives from the media and business circles.

On the first day of the forum, bilateral meetings were held between the Chairman of the State Agency and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Li Junhua, Deputy Minister of Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea Lee Yong Suk, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Mani, and Chairman of the Public Service Commission of Zimbabwe Vincent Hungwe.

During the meeting with the Korean side, satisfaction was expressed with the work carried out under the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Baku in 2016 between the two institutions, and discussions were held regarding future areas of cooperation.

In meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and the head of the relevant institution in Zimbabwe, the Chairman of the State Agency provided an extensive presentation on the "ASAN service" established under the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the innovations implemented there, and the achievements obtained. An agreement was reached on sharing the "ASAN service" experience with these countries.

As part of the forum, a session titled "Spreading Innovation, Gender, and Climate Elements for Public Service Transformation" will be organized by "ASAN service", the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA), the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), the Incheon City Government of the Republic of Korea, and the Agency for Civil Service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The UN Public Service Forum has been held since 2003, and in 2019, our country hosted this prestigious forum jointly organized by "ASAN service" and the UN.
