“ASAN service” Hosts Special Event at UN Forum

Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered a speech at the ministerial meeting held within the framework of the United Nations (UN) Public Service Forum in the Republic of Korea.

The Chairman of the State Agency emphasized the importance of applying artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies to further improve the provision of public services. Additionally, the participants were informed about the projects being implemented to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development."

The meeting also featured speeches from the UN Deputy Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, and the heads of relevant state institutions from Korea, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Georgia, Honduras, Zimbabwe, and Palau.

As part of the UN Public Service Forum, a session titled "Spreading Innovation, Gender, and Climate Elements for the Transformation of Public Services" was organized by ASAN service, United Cities and Local Governments of Africa, the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Incheon City Government of the Republic of Korea, and the Agency for Civil Service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A representative of the State Agency delivered a comprehensive presentation at the session about the activities of ASAN service, the projects implemented in the field of public service delivery, and the achievements gained. It was brought to the participants' attention that ASAN service is currently cooperating with more than 20 countries and international organizations in exporting the ASAN service model.

Additionally, an award ceremony for the winners of the 2024 UN Public Service Award was held during the Forum.

It should be noted that ASAN service received the UN Public Service Award in 2015 and a special award in 2019 for the development of public services through the application of innovative solutions by the UN.
