Following the opening session of the ASAN Global Web Forum “Governments Agile Response to COVID-19” was held, a panel session on “Public Services in Pandemic Times” was organized.
Speakers were Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiyev, Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan Ruslanbek Davletov, Minister of Public Services of Uganda Wilson Muruli Mukasa, Deputy Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms of Indonesia Diah Natalisa, Deputy Head of the Department for Public Administration, Office of the Prime Minister of Italy Michele Palma, CIO, European Joint e-Government and Open Data Innovation Lab Christian Rupp.
As for the moderator, he was the Chief of Public Services Innovation Branch, UN DESA John-Mary Kauzya.
In the session, attempts have been made to find answers to such questions as: "How to overcome the difficulties created by the pandemic for public services?", "How to act in the context of quarantine measures and economic stagnation?"
The speakers discussed the current problems, as well as effective, reliable and replicable solutions to offer to citizens of different countries.
Afterwars a panel session on "Social innovations and smart solutions to mobilize society during the pandemic" was organized.
The speakers of this session were Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Economic Issues and Innovative Development Policy of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahmar Movsumov, Head of the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Ali Taha Koç, Secretary-General of UCLG Africa Jean Pierre Elong Mbassi, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Ablaikhan Ospanov, Deputy Chairperson of Innovation and Technology Agency of Georgia Mariam Lashkhi, Head of Accelerate Estoni Mikk Vainik. As for the moderator, he was the Chief of Digital Government Branch, UN DESA Vincenzo Aquaro.
In the session interesting, complex and progressive solutions in this direction were presented.
At the same time, real time experiences were shared and discussed. Special attention was paid to the analysis, which estimates and covers a large number of stakeholders, as well as citizen-oriented approaches.
